My favourite place in the school compound is the Tan Kah Kee statue. The tan kah kee statue represents alot of the Hwa Chong's history about a philosopher. It shows the hardship during the times when Hwa Chong was born and how Tan Kah Kee used his own money in times of trouble to keep HwaChong on going. This will always remind us how tough HwaChong was built up and we should not tarnish its reputation by misbehaving. This is also the man which I have respected all along the first day I have stepped into the school compound. This gives me an identity that I am in one of the top schools in Singapore. I know I am different with people from other school because I am in a chinese school which focuses on bilingualism. With this identity, I know I must work hard to obtain greater achievements.
