DIARY ENTRY ON MY EXPERIENCE OF WAR / Sunday, May 22, 2011 @ 5:07 PM
Dear Diary,
Today I would like to share with you my traumatising experience of the world war2 when I was young. It started when the Japans had an air raid in Singapore. They began dropping bombs as the planes flew above our heads fearing everyone in the country. The sound of the plane traveling was really loud as our heart beated faster as the decibels rose. When many of the Japanese landed in Singapore, our british troops together with troops from neighbouring countries were trying to defend against the dominant Japans. My dad had also left me to go for war.....
In the process of this cruel operation by the Japs, I were most terrified when I saw my grandfather being pulled away by the Japanese troops. The troops were heartless when they grabbed my grandfather by the arm, pulling him forcefully with their filthy arms. I was fortunate that I wasn't brought away by the Japs but the operation had caused be not to be able to sleep peacefully at night throughout the years. I missed by grandfather and feared that other family members would also result in this situation. Throughout the night, I prayed hard for that my grandfather would return. But it never happened..
I hoped that countries would interact with one another amiably and not get into wars as many innocents would be hurt if this trend continues.....
